The Rev. Lark Hapke has served in United Church of Christ ministry for more than fifty years in roles including pastor, senior pastor, conference staff member, and, most recently, leading congregations through revisioning as an Intentional Interim Pastor. She joined Ivanhoe in October 2025 in a part-time, collaborative interim role with the Rev. Emily Mitchell, helping guide the congregation through reflection, visioning, and preparation for calling a settled pastor. Originally from Michigan City, Indiana, she is glad to be serving once again near the shores of Lake Michigan.

The Rev. Emily Mitchell is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. A former full-time pastor, she now combines part-time ministry with her work as co-owner of an interior design practice in Chicago. Her call to ministry continues through serving congregations across the metropolitan Chicago area.
Rev. Mitchell began serving regularly at Ivanhoe in August 2024 following a former pastor’s transition to a new call. Her grace, creativity, and generous spirit have been a blessing to our congregation in this time of transition. She shares in worship leadership with Rev. Lark and preaches twice each month, and she offers imaginative children’s moments that invite the wonder and participation of all ages.
