Service of Remembrance

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, our morning worship will include a sacred time of remembrance, honoring friends and family members who have died within the past year. During the service, we will read their names, sound a chime, and light a candle in their memory.
Service of Remembrance

We invite members and friends to share the name of a loved one for Ivanhoe Church’s Service of Remembrance (Totenfest), to be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025. During this service, we will honor friends and family members who have died within the past year by reading their names, sounding a chime, and lighting a candle of remembrance for each one.

This sacred service offers us a way to acknowledge the grief we carry and to share our loss in a communal ceremony—lifting the names of our loved ones before God.

Names to be included in the printed bulletin may be submitted through Friday, November 7, although those present in the service are also welcome to lift up the name of a loved one not included in print.

To include a name, please contact the church office or visit ivanhoechurch.org/totenfest.
